Road safety is ensured through the use of protective barriers made generally from steel types, aimed at minimizing the damage from potential accidents that may lead to loss of life and property, particularly in structures such as highways, divided roads, bridges, and viaducts. Safety barriers, considered as passive safety measures, prevent unwanted vehicles and animals from entering the roadway while ensuring that vehicles remain on the road during an accident. Factors such as road conditions, curve angles, slopes, and road width play a significant role in determining the characteristics of the barriers to be used. Additionally, it is crucial for barriers to be sufficiently noticeable to drivers during nighttime driving and extreme weather conditions.

To ensure maximum durability against external environmental conditions, barriers are treated with hot-dip galvanization.
